Falling flat on my face

No, I didn't actually fall down on my face but it sure feels like it when I think about nanowrimo. I was so hyped up about this and couldn't wait to get started. Now it's the middle of the month and probably should have something like 25,000 words or so. Hmm, my total is more like 500 something. Crap o la. I almost feel like writing and almost want to go crazy and write 49,500 words in two weeks. Of course, that's crazy talk. I'd never do it. I'm more likely to continue with another writing project I started a month or so ago. I miss that story. I was completely engrossed in a video game that I spent nearly every waking moment attached to the xbox. Then I struggled with some horrible feelings which seem to have worked themselves out. I'm not in such a poop mood anymore. I feel awhole lot better, though at times a little weird. Limbo status is freaky and a bit uneasy but it's all for the better. There's light at the end of this tunnel.

What's going on??

Quite frankly, I have no clue what is happening in Paris. I've seen headlines that for 8 or 9 days now, there have been riots. Is the world falling apart? Is there some slow moving alien invasion? How about the mayor of Las Vegas saying that graffiti artists should have their thumbs cut off on television. He brought up a point that in 19th century France, beheadings were common place for criminals committing heinous acts. Umm, isn't this the 21st century. Oh and don't let me forget how brilliant 54 million or so people are in chosing the leader of our country. Mr. Bush's approval ratings are at record lows. I guess you all aren't so approving after all. I'm not happy or anything about this because it's actually embarrassing. No leader of a nation should have record low approval ratings. What kind of message does that send to the world. Now we're stuck with an ineffective leader who doesn't have the majority support of his country. Not good. Not good at all. Funny, his whole reelection campaign revolved around him being a extraordinary leader.

Final note of the day, damn the Distractor!

The journey begins now

Oct 31 passed by and now I'm staring at Nov 1, the first day of Nanowrimo. I spit out about 300 words just so I could update my little counter. I know, I'm lame. I couldn't help it, I just wanted to see something other than a 0/50,000. We'll see if I can over come the Distractor and knock out this novel writing. I already logged two more hours this morning with the Distractor. The last few minutes were frustrating so I've been a little deterred, at least for the time being. Well, off to see what Dr. David Wilbon will encounter today after the death of his mother.
