Ave Maria, FL

I'm not sure what to make of this proposed town by Domino's Pizza founder Thomas S. Monaghan. First, how in the world do you just decide I'm going to make a brand new town? How do you find enough room to go, hey here's were I'm going to build my town. Thomas Monaghan's plan is to develop a town centered by a church and to be governed by strict Roman Catholic principles. I suppose that's okay and I'm not sure why people are gearing up for legal battles. If this is some new town, where no existing people live and you make the conscious decision to move there, then hey, I guess you expect to live by the governing rules. But then, doesn't this town have to follow the laws and regulations of the state of Florida and the federal government? So eventhough people who intend to live here are chosing to obide by the governing body, are they not supposed to be provided the same legal rights as all American's? Part of the plan is to ban the sale of condoms, birth control and pornographic magazines. Oh and forgive me on this one, I can't help myself, they plan to prohibit x-rated cable television. I suppose you'll still get ABC, Fox, CBS and NBC and other basic and extended cable, since they are technically not x-rated channels but are filled with sex and violence.

Oh, you know what, this sort of reminds me of The Village. How does this guy plan to keep future generations from being corrupted by the outside world? There bound to find out what's going on around them. Again, I guess you go there to live life the way you want to, if you decide you've had enough, you move.
